Job Title: Occupational Therapist
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at JAG Physical Therapy in Newport. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing patients' strengths and weaknesses, creating effective treatment plans, and promoting healing and functional independence.
What You'll Do:
- You will collect and record patient care data that follows format and guidelines of the patient care service, regulatory agencies, and third-party payers, reflecting an understanding of reimbursement systems and their impact on patient care.
- This includes initial evaluation, daily notes, reassessments/progress reports, discharge plans, and communication with members of the team.
- You will prepare for evaluations in accordance with department policies/procedures and standards of practice, including obtaining patient history, exhibiting knowledge of patient diagnoses, and researching unfamiliar diagnoses.
- You will select and administer tests and measures, synthesizing evaluation results to formulate diagnoses, goals, prognosis, and plans of care.
- You will establish treatment plans based on evaluation results, goals, and best practices, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and patient support systems.
- You will assess and re-assess the need for modifications to plans of care and goals, identifying the need for consultations and/or referring patients to other healthcare professionals or services.
- You will initiate and complete discharge plans, providing education/training to patients and/or patient support systems.
- You will conduct functional training, neurological interventions, and musculoskeletal interventions, among other responsibilities.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, or a Doctorate degree preferred.
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Completion of state-regulated CEU requirements in the applicable state (NY, NJ).
- A valid CPR license.
- Experience/knowledge with EMR software is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills.
- At least one year of professional OT experience.
- Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success.
- Basic computer skills.
- The ability to work as a team member and individually with minimal supervision.
- A positive, professional demeanor at all times.
