The primary duties of the Pharmacist include ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, enhancing the pharmaceutical care provided to patients, and delivering expert drug information to healthcare colleagues and patients. The Pharmacist is also responsible for overseeing the timely preparation and distribution of medications, while supervising Pharmacy Technicians within the pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
* Analyze and assess medication orders for optimal therapeutic outcomes, considering patient-specific factors such as age and health conditions to ensure the highest quality of care and accurate medication dispensing.
* Dispense medications by verifying the accuracy of bulk medications and automated dispensing unit fills to guarantee safe and timely pharmaceutical services.
* Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the department and organization to foster strong teamwork, embodying the core values of Glens Falls Hospital and supporting financial sustainability.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program.
* Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
* Must possess a current, active pharmacy license in New York State or be eligible for licensure transfer from another state.
* Pharmacy Registration in New York State is required.
Skills and Competencies
* Proficient communication skills to interpret and analyze medication orders, respond to urgent situations, and effectively convey critical information to colleagues and healthcare professionals.
* Ability to perform advanced pharmaceutical calculations and understand statistical concepts relevant to medication management.
* Competence in resolving clinical issues related to drug therapy and pharmaceutical care.
* Familiarity with current pharmacy practices and principles, including knowledge of computer order entry systems and regulatory standards.
* Capacity to work independently while adhering to established policies and procedures, demonstrating sound judgment and professionalism.

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $48.99 and $73.48 per hour, determined based on individual experience, education, and relevant certifications.
