Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on benefits offerings and providers to determine optimal value.
- Design and implement new benefits initiatives, analyzing potential plan structures and cost implications.
- Act as the main liaison for employees, benefit providers, and third-party administrators.
- Facilitate data transfers to external entities for service management and plan administration.
- Assess and refine internal processes to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of administrative procedures for assigned benefits.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and timely reporting, including compliance with ACA and 5500 requirements.
- Manage daily benefits operations, including enrollments, terminations, and claims processing.
- Oversee the upkeep of employee benefits records and databases.
- Collect employee data and manage monthly billing and payment processes for all group plans.
- Review and allocate claims for health and dental benefits on a monthly basis.
- Audit the performance and accuracy of benefits administration.
- Analyze existing benefits to assess usage, coverage, effectiveness, and market trends.
- Conduct plan audits and prepare data for actuarial evaluations.
- Evaluate cost projections and statistical analyses related to benefits modifications.
- Research industry trends and conduct benefits surveys to inform future program designs.
- Monitor administrative costs and propose strategies for cost containment.
- Provide support to both internal and external customers, enhancing understanding of the benefits package.
- Create and distribute materials for benefits orientations and open enrollment sessions.
Reconciliation Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for benefits enrollment and reconciliation platforms.
- Establish and maintain internal controls for benefits premium and deduction reconciliation.
- Drive the continuous improvement of the benefits reconciliation process in collaboration with finance teams.
- Lead updates and enhancements to benefits policies within the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven project management and leadership capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of benefits plan designs.
- Ability to evaluate and assess proposals effectively.
- Familiarity with benefits contract language and compliance regulations.
- Outstanding communication and organizational abilities.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, with three to five years of experience in benefits administration.
- Preferred certifications include SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS.
