Pediatric LPN Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our pediatric care team at Medical Health Associates of Western New York. As a Pediatric LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to infants, children, teens, and young adults in our office setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including exam/procedure prep, screenings, initial assessments, patient exams, and clinical procedures.
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and obtain specimens as ordered by providers.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures, such as suturing, obtaining specimens for culture, and catheterizations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emergency situations.
  • Assist with stocking supplies, cleaning/preparing rooms and equipment, and scheduling visits.
  • Communicate with parents/patients regarding questions, follow-up instructions, or scheduling of additional testing.
  • Provide health education information and health teaching to parents/patients as directed by providers.
  • Accurately communicate with pharmacies regarding prescription requests or prior authorizations.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved program for Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Current NYS Licensure and registration required.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • One year experience preferred in pediatric, clinical, or office nursing.
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency with medical record technology.
