We are currently in search of a proficient Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician to enhance our team. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining the safety and regulatory compliance of kitchen fire suppression systems in diverse environments such as dining establishments, food service areas, and hospitality venues. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the installation, assessment, upkeep, and repair of fire suppression systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough inspections and maintenance of suppression systems to guarantee operational efficiency and adherence to all applicable fire safety regulations.
  • Install new fire suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and local codes.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues within fire suppression systems, including both electrical and mechanical components.
  • Provide training and guidance to client personnel on the correct usage and maintenance of fire suppression systems.
  • Document and maintain comprehensive service reports for each inspection or service engagement.
  • Collaborate with fire safety inspectors and other regulatory personnel for system approvals and certifications.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in fire protection technology and safety standards.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification from a recognized fire protection organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities, with a focus on educating and engaging clients.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred:

  • At least 2 years of experience in fire suppression systems or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, particularly NFPA 96 and NFPA 17A.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
Compensation

Hourly wage ranges from $24 to $30.

Physical Demands

While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands for handling and communication. The employee frequently needs to reach with hands and arms, and may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role necessitates standing for extended periods, walking, sitting, and climbing stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee should be capable of working in high-temperature environments and walking significant distances as needed.
