Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled High Voltage Pulsed Power Associate Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, operating, and troubleshooting pulsed power components and systems. This role will also involve working with outside vendors to develop custom solutions for capacitor charging, discharging, protection devices, and pulsed shaping.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electric power components and systems for our fusion energy experiments
  • Collaborate with vendors to create custom solutions for pulsed power applications
  • Provide technical support for the design, assembly, fielding, and operations of our research experiments
  • Work with state-of-the-art fast, high current switch technologies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Pulsed Power, or a related field
  • Experience in data analysis, including reduction, interpretation, and error analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to complete assigned projects and work effectively with technical staff
  • Understanding of electromagnetic interference and mitigation techniques
  • Ability to comply with industry best practices and relevant IEC and IEEE standards
  • Excellent written and communication skills

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $70K-100K. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy, and the actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications.
