Vocational Day Services Program Counselor

Program Overview

The Vocational Day Services (VDS) Program is an afterschool work readiness program for adolescent youth with a history of mental health challenges. Our mission is to assist youth in developing the social, emotional, physical, and vocational abilities necessary for successful placement in the workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Transport youth to program and home after program
  • Assist staff in assigned daily activities
  • Provide direct supervision of program participants, monitoring behavior and safety
  • Conduct program projects and/or activities for youth as appropriate
  • Document and maintain updated progress notes of group sessions in the AWARDS electronic health system
  • Participate in assigned meetings and trainings
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in working with adolescent youth
  • At least two years' experience in the workforce
  • Possess strong communication, organizational, & time management skills
  • Valid NYS driver's license
Schedule
  • Approximately 10-12 hours per week (between hours of 12:00pm-7:00pm)
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays
