Project Engineer Job Description

At Haselden Construction, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently identify and perform required tasks without needing direction on specific items.
  • Study and understand project drawings, specifications, subcontractor agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Review and submit project RFI's to manage procurement to meet project schedule.
  • Review and submit project Submittals to ensure proper compliance with project documents.
  • Proactively manage material procurement to ensure on-time arrival of project-specified materials.
  • Identify, apply for, get, and comply with building, storm water, and other permits.
  • Identify, coordinate, and track contractually required testing and inspection.
  • Generate pre-punch list items and work with Owner/Architect to generate punch list items.
  • Manage punch list and closeout process.
  • Act as the "information hub" for project to office, field personnel, and design team members to ensure continuity of work.
  • Assist the Superintendent and/or Project Manager in generating the CPM schedule updates using Haselden's standard scheduling software.
  • Participate in generating short-term schedules.
  • Identify and price Owner and subcontract change orders, including evaluation of scopes and pricing.
  • Assist with job setup, project meetings, safety, record-keeping, and quality control.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university or equivalent industry experience.
  • Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam experience/capability desired.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Maintains a strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • 2-5 years of on-the-job experience required.
  • Earns certifications for 1st Aid, CPR, and OSHA 10-hour.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $87,000 per year. Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, location where job is performed.
