Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Para Educator to join our team at Boone County Schools. As a Para Educator, you will provide support to students with special needs, assisting them in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with special needs in a variety of settings, including classrooms and individualized instruction
  • Provide support with daily living skills, such as toileting and feeding
  • Assist with physical management of students with disabilities
  • Implement fine and gross motor activities under the supervision of the occupational or physical therapist
  • Assist speech therapist by giving follow-up articulation and language skills
  • Supervise part of class while teacher works with other students
  • Facilitate Community Based instruction
  • Participate in in-service training as provided by the School District
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of experience working with children in an organized setting preferred
  • Certification in American Red Cross/American Heart Association CPR and First Aid required
  • Ability to read and follow written directions
  • Ability to lift and assist in moving children of various weights numerous times per day
Working Conditions

This is a 6.5 hour per day, 32.5 hour per week position. The Para Educator will work in a variety of settings, including classrooms and individualized instruction. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations is essential.
