We have an opening for a Precision Fabrication Specialist at our location in Fraser, Michigan. The hourly rate for this position is $18-$28, depending on experience. The working hours are 6am - 2:30pm when working an 8-hour day or 5am to 2:30-3:30pm when overtime is needed. Weekend work may be required when a job permits it.

Job Summary

The Precision Fabricator is responsible for producing quality manufactured parts according to instructions provided, in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Spot welds for sheet metal assemblies (steel and aluminum) using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications.
  • Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
  • Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
  • Bend press/machining, Bridgeport operation.
  • Part qualifying.
Requirements
  • Must be experienced in blueprint reading, interpretation, and GD&T.
  • Ability to perform calculations and conduct moderate analysis.
  • Familiar with robotic MIG/MAG welding (fixtures, clamping, programming, cut & etch, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of quality equipment and fabrication equipment; including but not limited to Lathes, Mills (Both Manual & CNC), Surface Grinders, Gages, Torque Cells, Etc.
