Clinical Laboratory Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient results, and providing consultative services to the medical staff.
Responsibilities- Supervise the daily operation of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Provide consultative services to the medical staff, utilizing your expertise in laboratory procedures and quality management.
- Oversee the laboratory's performance improvement program, participating in hospital interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Ensure the technical and fiscal management of the laboratory, including staff competency assessments and performance evaluations.
- Develop, maintain, and update laboratory policy and procedure manuals, ensuring currency and accuracy.
- Review quality control performance, documenting corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
- Identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance, notifying the Director or Medical Director as needed.
- Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures, utilizing both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and other disciplines.
- Ensure the performance and documentation of equipment maintenance, recognizing age-specific differences in expected results.
- Collaborate with other laboratories, ensuring the testing of proficiency testing samples in the same manner as patient samples.
- Adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources.
- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related BS from an accredited college.
- Meets the education and certification requirements for licensure and possesses a valid GENERAL SUPERVISOR license from the State of Nevada - or is eligible to work while pending.
- Minimum 3-years clinical laboratory supervisory experience required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Ability to work and problem solve independently, utilizing leadership and coaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a leadership team.
- Sexual Harassment training within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
