Clinical Laboratory Supervisor

Prime Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Lab Supervisor to join our team at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. As a Clinical Lab Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services, providing consultative services to the medical staff, and overseeing the technical and fiscal management of the laboratory.
Responsibilities- Supervise the daily operation of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Provide consultative services to the medical staff, utilizing your expertise to improve patient care.
- Oversee the laboratory's performance improvement program, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure the accuracy of patient results, reviewing quality control performance and taking corrective action as needed.
- Develop and maintain laboratory policies and procedures, ensuring currency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assess staff competency and complete performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Ensure the performance and documentation of equipment maintenance, recognizing age-specific differences in expected results.
- Collaborate with other laboratories to ensure the testing of proficiency testing samples is conducted in the same manner as patient samples.
- Adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources.
- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science (or related field) from an accredited college.
- Valid GENERAL SUPERVISOR license from the State of Nevada (or eligible to work pending).
- Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory supervisory experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work and problem-solve independently.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize leadership and coaching skills, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
