Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced logistics professional to oversee container management for our distribution centers in the USA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, supply chain management, and experience in handling inbound/import shipments from suppliers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and proactively manage inbound container shipments from various suppliers.
  • Work closely with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and track container movement to optimize container utilization, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
  • Manage a network of port terms to ensure timely receipt and movement of containers from ports to distributor's warehouses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Resolve any issues or delays in container shipments promptly and effectively.
  • Manage a staff that requires extensive coordination and communications with purchasing, operations, and inventory suppliers and executive management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in inbound logistics, specifically in container management.
  • Experience with freight forwarders.
  • Strong understanding of import regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office suite.
