Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a Secret Clearance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing hydro-mechanical control systems for aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Component requirements analysis and specification reviews
  • Creation of physical components considering factors like performance, weight, envelope, and cost
  • Utilization of 3D analysis such as Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Ensuring novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools
  • Design of major components or major portions of functional systems or technically advanced prototypes
  • Development of data and making layouts, sketches, and notes for components
  • Collaboration with product definition specialists
  • Investigation of pertinent design factors such as strength-weight efficiency
  • Performance of 1-D hand calculation analysis and complex 3-D simulations
  • Generation of solid models of components using 3-D modeling software
  • Creation of technical substantiation and development of components and assemblies
Requirements:
  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
  • Min 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience with aircraft sub-systems, hydro-mechanical control systems, and engine control systems highly preferred
  • Advanced user of Siemens NX/Teamcenter environments
  • The ability to create & interpret technical drawings and design intent notes
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and best practices
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be working in a team environment, primarily office-based, with on-site presence at the customer facility for 40 hours per week. The role requires extensive telephone, video conferencing, and computer work in alignment with industry regulations and procedures.
