Job Title: In-House Recovery Coordinator

DCI Donor Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate In-House Recovery Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organ procurement organization, you will play a vital role in saving lives through organ and tissue donation.

Job Summary:

The In-House Recovery Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the recovery of organs and tissues from donors, ensuring that the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
  • Coordinate organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
  • Coordinate and assist in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics such as arranging transportation and preparing lab specimens for shipment.
  • Provide support to donor families and conduct medical/social history interviews.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to improve donation metrics, protocols, and policy.
  • Develop and present hospital educational programs and status reports based on strategic goals.
  • Update donor information into electronic medical records.
Requirements:
  • Two plus years of prior experience in a critical care setting.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask.
  • Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Registered Nursing (RN) License.
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
