Job Title: In-house Recovery Coordinator

DCI Donor Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated In-house Recovery Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in saving lives through organ and tissue donation.

Job Summary:

The In-house Recovery Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the process of procuring the gift of organ donation. This includes assessing the compatibility of organs for recipients, expediting the surgical and technical processes to package and transfer organs for transplant, and working closely with hospital personnel and surgeons to facilitate the lifesaving gift of organ transplantation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluating patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
  • Coordinating organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
  • Coordinating and assisting in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics such as arranging transportation, ensuring surgical packaging, and preparing lab specimens for shipment.
  • Providing support to donor families and conducting medical/social history interviews.
  • Partnering with hospital leadership to improve donation metrics, protocols, and policy.
  • Developing and presenting hospital educational programs and status reports based on strategic goals.
  • Updating donor information into electronic medical records.
Requirements:
  • Two plus years of prior experience in a critical care setting.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask.
  • Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Registered Nursing (RN) License.
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
