About the Role:
Maine Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team in Scarborough, ME. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for assisting with patient care during pre-op, procedure, and post-op periods, as well as discharges and follow-up appointments.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient care during pre-op, procedure, and post-op periods
- Monitor anesthesia for patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Maintain a sterile environment and assist with surgical instrument maintenance
- Perform routine and advanced treatments and procedures
- Provide comfort and care to patients
- Keep patient families updated on medical and financial status
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital
- Current Maine Veterinary Technician License or ability to obtain one
- Excellent communication and clinical skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
