Job Title: Technical Support Specialist

Join the Saginaw Area Consortium team as a Technical Support Specialist, providing expert technical support and maintenance of computer systems and peripherals for our organization and partnering locations.

Job Summary:

The Technical Support Specialist will report to the Director of Technology and be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance of computer systems and peripherals, including hardware and software maintenance, device and user management, and desktop security software management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical support and maintenance of computer systems and peripherals, including hardware and software maintenance.
  2. Assist in device and user management systems, computer image development and deployment, and management of desktop security software.
  3. Travel to all Saginaw ISD and partnering locations in the contracted service area to provide technical support and maintenance.
  4. Maintain a daily log of activities in a help desk database.
  5. Support and enhance a collaborative team environment.
  6. Meet and greet customers in a positive, helpful manner.
  7. Perform other related duties and assume related responsibilities as assigned by department coordinators and supervisors.
Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or GED with 60 hours of college courses in the area of technology or equivalent required.
  2. Associates Degree in computer science, computer information systems or related field preferred.
  3. Minimum of three (3) years of experience installing and maintaining networked computer systems.
  4. Experience working in Windows 7/10, Google Chrome OS, and Apple iPadOS platforms required.
  5. Experience working with K-12 educational institutions preferred, but not required.
  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups and individuals with all levels of technology skills.
  7. Ability to work in a team-based system that utilizes work-teams for collaborative decision-making.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  9. Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  11. Ability to lift as necessary.
