Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Coordinator to join our team at WestCare. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing technical expertise, program direction, and project management tasks associated with our WestCare Texas Laredo Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction to the coalition in assessing community needs and developing a comprehensive plan to reduce drug abuse among youth and adults.
  • Work closely with the Community Coalition to develop measurable goals, objectives, and desired outcomes, and establish timelines for implementation.
  • Organize and conduct meetings with coalition members, partner organizations, and key leaders to ensure program implementation is coordinated and supports the identified goals and objectives.
  • Provide support to partner organizations to ensure they have adequate resources, supplies, and personnel to carry out strategies supported by the Drug Free Communities FACE Coalition funding.
  • Monitor implementation progress, conducting regular reviews with coalition stakeholders, partner organizations, and community leaders.
  • Collect and coordinate data assessment and reporting with WestCare evaluation staff, as required by grant programs.
  • Attend and participate in required grant trainings or community trainings, as identified in the strategic plan or by community partner organizations or Senior Management.
  • Responsible for collecting, compiling, and timely submitting reports to funders, Communications Contractor, and Senior Management.
  • Provide bi-weekly updates on activities.
  • Initiate check requests in a timely manner to meet goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Four (4) years of experience working in a programmatic support role in a non-profit agency.
  • Bachelor's degree and comparable work experience at a minimum is required.
  • Ability to qualify for WestCare vehicle insurance and possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • CPR Certification and First Aid Certification preferred.
