Position Summary:

In this pivotal role, you will manage the grain sourcing strategy at our ethanol production facility, ensuring alignment with the objectives of our commodities division and the overall mission of the company.

  • Source corn supplies from agricultural producers and grain storage facilities in accordance with established protocols.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, marketing organizations, and grain storage operators, while sharing valuable market insights with the grain team.
  • Oversee the activities of the Commodities Assistant or Grain Procurement Representative.
  • Identify appropriate cash contracts tailored to the regional market.
  • Oversee grain purchasing strategies, logistics for transportation, and inventory management to effectively meet operational demands.
  • Enter purchase agreements into the financial system, ensuring compliance with company record-keeping standards.
  • Work closely with the finance department to guarantee prompt and accurate supplier payments.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure efficient shipping and receiving operations, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively communicate grain procurement and pricing strategies to the corporate hedging team in a timely manner.
Ben Aris offers relocation support to facilitate your transition into this role.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in business or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of ten years of procurement experience within the agriculture, grain, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in customer relations with farmers, grain elevator staff, and transport operators is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
