Clinical Support Specialist

Salary Information:The estimated salary for this position is $20.00 - $23.76 per hour.
Job Summary:This role requires a highly skilled and experienced individual who can perform a variety of clinical duties, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and direct care duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting and be certified through a recognized agency.
Key Responsibilities:- Room patients, obtain vital signs, verify medications, medical history, and other pertinent information.
- Assist physicians and nurses as needed.
- Perform EKGs, peak flows/spirometry, and administer oxygen as directed by provider.
- Perform in-office labs and UDS, prescribe refills, and enter orders for medication and labs as directed by provider.
- Scrub charts, huddle with provider and team daily, and perform normal lab call backs.
- Blood draws, injections, and immunization administration require competency sign-off.
- Assist with procedures, non-complicated wound care, suture/staple removal, stock and clean rooms, and maintain logs and required checks.
- Additional duties as needed.
- Minimum 2-years' experience in Hospital or Clinical setting.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant
- Current BLS certification (maintaining current certification is required for continued employment Aviva Health).
- Ability to work independently, detail oriented, organized, work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent computer and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of office procedures, patient flow, triage and scheduling.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and writing clearly and concisely. Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions and deliver upon expectations.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
