Position Overview
As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) within Striveworks' professional services team, you will be entrusted from day one to oversee specific product implementations by managing, refining, and enhancing our on-premises and cloud-based computing infrastructures.

Your role is pivotal in ensuring the successful rollout of our software solutions to clients, where you will handle the technical facets of implementation projects, guaranteeing smooth integration, customization, and configuration of our software offerings.

Your technical acumen will be essential as we introduce new instances of Striveworks' MLOps capabilities into customer environments.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Automate Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) processes to provision virtual machines and deploy containers, services, and other infrastructure components; utilizing your expertise to establish custom Kubernetes clusters across various environments including AWS, Azure, GCP, on-premises, or hybrid setups.
  • Collaborate with platform developers to outline requirements and create solutions tailored to customer use cases.
  • Manage software deployments across unclassified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Secret, and Top Secret networks.
  • Respond to incidents and conduct initial assessments of critical system failures.

The Senior SRE will be part of the Engagements Team (ET), acting as a bridge between ET, DevOps, and IT operations, taking on operational responsibilities to ensure the effective performance of Striveworks' customer solutions.

Your efforts will enhance software reliability, performance, and availability, addressing the diverse IT requirements for various projects.

You will also provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior SRE team members, collaborating with software engineers and data scientists to ensure their work is deployed and operated as effective products.

In this role, you will significantly contribute to the success of mission-critical systems for both national security and commercial clients. You will be expected to adapt to various responsibilities and take initiative where additional support is needed, while also having the opportunity to explore new technologies.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:

  • A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in microservice deployment within Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in Helm Chart and Kustomizations development and deployment.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Experience with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack).
  • Ability to lead and support software deployments across various security classifications.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills
We value additional qualifications such as:

  • Experience with CNCF projects.
  • Knowledge of US federal information system security policies.
  • Experience in DevSecOps/DevOps and CI/CD for GPU-enabled server administration and deployment.
  • Familiarity with Network-Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Networks (SAN).
  • Deep understanding of DevOps principles for managing service mesh in cloud environments.
