Key Responsibilities

Peraton is in search of a skilled Quality Assurance Software Engineer to enhance TT&C and Satellite Mission Management software for our critical mission clients and commercial software offerings. This role is designed for professionals who are local to the work area and allows for occasional remote work.

The selected candidate will undertake the following duties:

Conducting comprehensive system-level software integration and testing (I&T) activities for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control applications, ensuring system compatibility to achieve program technical, scheduling, and budgetary goals. This encompasses the testing and integration of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems from the design phase through development, documentation, installation, and commissioning of the finalized system.

  • Generate intricate test procedures for validating and verifying software components developed in Java and C, while analyzing requirements for integration and/or testability challenges.
  • Design and implement software system-level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures, and customer acceptance criteria.
  • Plan, support, and lead test readiness reviews, formal system verification of requirements, and compile final test reports.
  • Adopt and promote best practices in documentation, testing, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Perform basic administration and configuration of RedHat Enterprise Linux to resolve configuration challenges and integrate Red Hat Linux systems with existing environments.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with no prior experience, or a High School diploma with over 6 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and life cycles, including specifications and testing.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and developing test scripts using Python and T&C Control Languages.
  • Proficiency in RedHat Linux, with the capability to manage configuration and lab setup, providing solutions for issues or enhancing lab efficiencies.
  • Possession of an Active/Current Public Trust clearance.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of software development and testing tools.
  • Background in Satellite Ground Station – Command and Control applications, along with software integration and troubleshooting of complex, multi-application systems, including Satellite Mission Planning Software.
  • Strong communication skills with management, peers, and clients.

Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This range reflects the typical salary for this position based on experience and other relevant factors.
