Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Dassault Aviation is seeking a highly experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at our state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Melbourne, Florida.

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies. This includes planning, organizing, and directing the Quality Assurance department, promoting aviation safety, and developing and maintaining the FAA Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 145 and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Plan, organize, staff, control, and direct the Quality Assurance department
  • Promote aviation safety by ensuring airworthy and quality aircraft maintenance
  • Develop and maintain the FAA Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual
  • Interpret Federal Aviation Regulations into company policy/procedure
  • Administer the company's quality systems
  • Administer the Internal Quality Audit Program
  • Coordinate with Department Managers and the Training Program Coordinator for the requirements of the Repair Station Training Program and maintain technician training records
  • Administer the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic equipment calibration program
  • Manage the Repair Station's record keeping requirements
  • Ensure that all technical data is current
  • Control the issue of inspectors' stamps and manage the Repair Station rosters
  • Recommends, as required, individuals for repairman's certificate
  • Communicate company and department managers' goals and objectives to staff, and communicate staff suggestions and concerns as appropriate
  • May travel to customer locations to establish and/or maintain good working relations, including dispute resolution
  • Observe company rules and regulations, including housekeeping and proper use of safety methods and the safe operation of proper equipment
  • Prepare department budget for fiscal year operations
  • Develop strategic plans for the continuous improvement of quality
  • Stay current with industry trends and innovations
Requirements:
  • College coursework in Business, Aviation, Engineering, or related field
  • 7 years' experience in a Quality supervision/management role in a business aircraft MRO/FAA Repair Station environment with oversight of 10+ employees
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Working knowledge of FAA and Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to maintenance programs and procedures
  • Computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications
  • Previous experience in ISO-certified environment
  • Previous experience with the FAA Flight Standards District Office
  • Working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application (e.g., Six Sigma)
  • Working knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, financial reports, and meet financial objectives for assigned area and programs
  • Working knowledge of current trends and best practices within the Quality field
  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments, organizations, and regulatory agencies
  • Business writing skills necessary to create various reports and correspondence
  • Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of management
  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees with a multiple project setting
  • Write and speak English clearly
