About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Music Program Coordinator to join our team at Baldwin Wallace University. As a key member of our Community Arts School, you will play a vital role in supporting and coordinating music classes, ensembles, and summer arts programs.

Responsibilities

  • Program Coordination
    • Manage relationships with families, faculty, and student assistants for all CAS classes and ensembles.
    • Grow CAS Music enrollment by offering a diverse range of programs that cater to different musical interests and skill levels.
    • Support faculty and instructors in their teaching roles.
    • Collaborate with BW Music Education faculty to train and support BW student assistants, sectional teachers, and service learners.
    • Communicate effectively with faculty and conductors to ensure a unified understanding of programmatic needs.
  • Logistics and Operations
    • Coordinate rehearsals and concerts, including stage and rehearsal setup, concert program production, and front-of-house responsibilities.
    • Reserve rehearsal and concert spaces in collaboration with BW Conservatory staff and external contacts.
    • Purchase music as requested by directors and manage preparation of music folders and other classroom materials.
    • Oversee the CAS music ensemble library and maintain accurate files.
    • Provide quarterly program financial reports to the CAS Director.
  • Summer Arts Programs
    • Plan and manage summer arts programs, including securing spaces, dorms, dining, field trips, and transportation.
    • Hire related student and professional instructors, including interviewing, contract assistance, and training.
    • Create registration forms, update policies, and set schedules for campers, student counselors, directors, and support staff.
    • Order supplies, including music, snacks, and equipment.
    • Compose and schedule proactive communication with stakeholders.
    • Manage one seasonal Summer Camp Chief of Staff.
  • Community Building
    • Strengthen relationships with CAS and BW Faculty to ensure high-quality program offerings.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with area schools to promote awareness about CAS programs.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have a college degree and a background in music or arts.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google products, web/database software, and the ability to learn new applications are required.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, relationship-building abilities, and multitasking capabilities are necessary.

Compensation

This is a full-time administrative position with a competitive salary of $$55,000 per year, plus tuition benefits.
