YU & Associates, Inc., a recognized engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Transportation Project Manager to oversee a variety of transportation engineering initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the successful management and execution of projects, ensuring client satisfaction and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct transportation engineering projects, which encompass highway design, traffic management, roadway enhancements, transportation strategy, and airport engineering. Act as the main liaison for clients, fostering effective communication and strong partnerships.
  • Deliver technical guidance and conduct quality assessments in highway design, traffic safety, transportation strategy, or a combination of these areas.
  • Assess project staffing requirements, focusing on recruitment, development, retention, and succession planning for project personnel.
  • Track project advancement, pinpoint potential risks and challenges, and execute suitable mitigation strategies.
  • Develop project budgets, timelines, and specifications for labor and materials.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, providing updates to stakeholders and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Prepare and evaluate project outputs, including reports, design documents, specifications, and cost analyses.
  • Manage project financials, including expense tracking, invoice approvals, and ensuring effective cost control measures.
  • Encourage and engage in the professional development and mentorship of team members.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in transportation engineering.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline; a master's degree is advantageous. A Professional Engineer License in New York and/or New Jersey is required, or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation design, with a preference for highway and roadway design experience.
  • Experience with Design-Build projects is a plus.
  • Proficient in CAD/Design Software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Inroads/OpenRoads) and capable of assisting others as necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lead projects and supervise technical personnel effectively.
  • Strong skills in developing client relationships.
