POSITION: Overhead Crane Service Technician

Are you looking to develop your skills as a proficient Overhead Crane Service Technician? Konecranes, a leader in material handling solutions, is in search of talented individuals with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, who are comfortable working at significant heights. Our service technicians are the backbone of our industry, thriving in a safety-oriented atmosphere. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing 480 3-phase motors, resolving crane-related issues, and collaborating with clients and facility managers to fulfill service requirements across various locations.

What we provide:

Compensation: $22 - $48 per hour - Salary is determined based on skills, geographic location, internal equity, market analysis, years of relevant experience, educational qualifications, certifications, and technical assessment results.

Company Vehicle: Our Service Technicians are provided with a work vehicle and a gas card for business use. Candidates must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at client sites. Provide on-call service as part of a rotation, including after-hours support. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic issues on-site. Conduct post-repair audits to ensure safety features are operational. Document findings and suggest corrective actions, including safety notifications to clients. Advise clients on repair and safety matters, offering recommendations for material handling enhancements. Generate electronic documentation using company tools, obtaining client signatures. Stay informed about industry codes and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI). Complete service reports and other required documentation accurately and promptly. Communicate with the Field Operations Manager and Service Coordinator following established protocols. Maintain company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in good working condition. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, reporting deficiencies to the supervisor. Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures, including client guidelines. Participate in monthly safety meetings. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Education: A High School Diploma is required. An Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a related field is preferred, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair is required. Some electronic experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Previous experience with cranes is advantageous but not essential.

Additional Requirements: Must possess and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver's license. Must be willing to work at heights. Availability for varied overtime, on-call duties as part of the service office rotation, and occasional travel is necessary.

Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs, lift up to 50 lbs daily, and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. Must be able to lift 100 lbs on rare occasions. This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching. Occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling may be required. This position will be indoors approximately 90% of the time and outdoors about 10% of the time, with frequent exposure to heat, cold, noise, and heights.
