Job Summary

The Plant Manager will provide leadership and direction to ensure the safe, productive, and efficient operation of the facility, exceeding customer expectations. Develop and implement internal processes in coordination with our current CPG initiatives, continuously improving the quality and services provided by the business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure plant employees work in a safe and productive manner, meeting Operational Excellence metrics.
  • Manage branch supervisors and daily production goals.
  • Develop plans and procedures to ensure the safety of all employees and visitors of the warehouse.
  • Ensure operations and equipment comply with corporate guidelines and OSHA Standards.
  • Verify inventory and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Hire, train, motivate, and discipline warehouse employees as required.
  • Schedule and provide training where required.
  • Maintain equipment to provide maximum availability and minimum downtime.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment purchases to enhance quality, capabilities, and productivity.
  • Communicate and monitor progress towards company safety, returns, and allowances, and on-time shipment and delivery directives.
  • Monitor quality and process improvement throughout the warehouse using SAP reports.
  • Assist in building and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure preventive and corrective action methods are followed to eliminate or correct procedures and practices that do not meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure adequate support of the sales department and its customers in a timely and orderly manner.
  • Assist with customer problems, including on-site visits where necessary.
  • Facilitate lean practices in the plant, emphasizing meeting and exceeding prescribed cleaning standards and 6S+ goals.
  • Purchase or direct the purchase of necessary warehouse supplies to ensure compliance with written work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Attend regional and corporate meetings when required.
  • Perform employee reviews as required.
  • Assist in contract negotiations, where applicable.
  • Meet TKMNA Employee Attributes/Competencies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Behavioral Science curriculum or relevant work experience.
  • Two years of direct Warehouse Supervision or team leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Office applications, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • An understanding of Basic Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Safety Mindset.

Preferred Requirements:

MBA, Master's degree, or Ph.D. is a plus.

Exposure to labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, Lean practices, and sales functions.

This individual must possess good leadership qualities and the ability to build an effective team as well as be an effective team member.
