HLA Technologist Specialist

Emory Healthcare is a leading academic health system in Georgia, committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. We are seeking an experienced HLA Technologist to join our team in one of the best ASHI-Accredited HLA Labs in the country.
Responsibilities- Perform standardized and high-complexity histocompatibility testing on various types of clinical samples.
- May perform tests in one scientific discipline or perform selected tests in multiple disciplines (crosstrain DNA/serology).
- Contribute to sample processing, test preparation, testing results, and generate reports.
- Train and mentor other HLA technologists.
- Evaluate the validity of test results according to transplant program needs and confirm results by alternative methods.
- Participate in equipment maintenance, instrumentation calibration, quality control, and documentation, and monitor levels of supplies and equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical, or biological science.
- Two years of medical technology or HLA experience.
- Certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), or categorical, MT (AMT), MT (HHS or HEW), MT (AAB), CHT (ABHI), CHS (ABHI).
