Overview

Emory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled HLA Technologist to join our team in the Histocompatibility Laboratory. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing routine assays and general clerical tasks, as well as high-complexity histocompatibility testing on various types of clinical samples.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine assays and general clerical tasks, including sample processing, testing preparation, and report generation.
  • Conduct high-complexity histocompatibility testing, including HLA antibody screen and identification, crossmatching, typing, and engraftment monitoring.
  • Analyze and evaluate test results, and generate and evaluate clinical reports.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control procedures, and initiate corrective action for errors as needed.
  • Perform equipment maintenance, instrumentation calibration, quality control, and documentation, and maintain adequate levels of supplies and equipment.
  • Take on-call assignments in one discipline for nights, holidays, and weekends on a rotating basis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical, or biological science.
  • ASCP certification in medical technology or histocompatibility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals.
