As a Project Engineer III, your role will encompass the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit leadership in adhering to environmental health and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee engineering projects by effectively organizing and managing project components.
  • Manage project phases, including budget and hand-offs to manufacturing and operations teams.
  • Ensure project timelines are met by tracking progress, coordinating tasks, and addressing challenges.
  • Identify project responsibilities by delineating phases and components.
  • Establish project specifications through analysis of process flows and performance criteria.
  • Generate project status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; provide recommendations.
  • Conduct technical assessments and prepare cost projections.
  • Assist in designing facility layouts and workforce requirements related to production and automation.
  • Develop operational instructions for production staff.
  • Support training initiatives for production personnel and assist in automation training sign-offs.
  • Compile reports to document process updates and modifications.
  • Monitor metrics to identify improvement opportunities and oversee automation upgrades.
  • Assess existing workflows for automation potential and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Automation Engineers to address installation and maintenance needs of automation systems.
  • Ensure work processes prioritize safety and address any safety concerns.
  • Report issues or concerns to the direct supervisor.
  • Maintain regular attendance to fulfill essential job functions within designated work hours.
  • Keep a clean and organized workspace.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and aim to minimize conflicts.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Contribute to the company's standards of integrity, safety, fairness, and a positive work environment.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing preferred; equivalent experience with an Associate's degree may be considered.
  • 4-7 years of experience in a high-tech manufacturing setting, focusing on advanced manufacturing and automation technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly grasp the scope and limitations of issues and develop effective solutions that align with business needs.
  • Moderate familiarity with manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey ideas and technical requirements clearly.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office for data management and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and design aspects of automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently to meet goals and standards.
  • Hands-on approach with effective communication abilities.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work under the guidance of senior personnel.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of Lean, Kaizen, and Design for Manufacturing principles is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday.
  • Must be capable of working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery, noise, and chemicals.
  • Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required.
