Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Lesson Plans: Create and implement lesson plans and programs of study to meet the needs of students with special needs.
- Collaborate with Teachers and Parents: Work closely with teachers and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
- Evaluate and Assess Student Progress: Evaluate and assess the academic and social skills of students, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Facilitate IEP Development: Facilitate the development of IEPs for students assigned to their classroom, and update these IEPs as necessary based on re-evaluations of student needs and annual reviews.
- Communicate with Stakeholders: Maintain communication with students' teachers and parents regarding students' needs and progress.
- Valid PEL Endorsement: Possess a valid PEL endorsement for Learning Behavior Specialist.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training: Participate in 12-hour Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training.
- Knowledge of IEPs: Have knowledge of IEPs and their development.
- Physical Demands: Be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling when required.
