The Director of Corporate Communications is a newly established role tasked with crafting and implementing a cohesive corporate communication strategy that aligns with 10x's mission, vision, and critical business objectives. This essential position will collaborate with Human Resources, Marketing, and other departments to engage, inform, and motivate employees while enhancing the company's public image through proactive media relations and public engagement.
To excel in this role, you should be a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is eager to make a significant impact. This position requires a hands-on approach, combining strategic foresight with practical execution. The ideal candidate will be innovative, collaborative, and self-motivated.
This role presents a unique chance to influence the narrative of a pioneering organization dedicated to advancing human health through innovative technologies. The position is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Vice President of Corporate Communications. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development and Implementation:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and execute a comprehensive corporate communication strategy that supports and advances the organization's mission and strategic priorities.
- Regularly evaluate the corporate communication strategy, messaging, and channels to identify and implement innovative ways to effectively share the 10x narrative.
- Work closely with senior leadership and various teams to produce and consistently deliver engaging content for both internal and external audiences.
Internal Communication Management:
- Oversee and enhance established internal communication platforms to keep employees informed and engaged, including company-wide updates, newsletters, and all-hands meetings.
- Develop, launch, and sustain new communication initiatives to foster employee engagement with the company's mission and objectives.
- Design and manage employee communication campaigns to promote the company's mission, culture, and key initiatives, including significant company announcements.
- Advise senior leaders on effective communication strategies based on a solid understanding of organizational dynamics.
- Support the Human Resources team with communications related to HR initiatives and programs.
External Communication and Media Relations:
- Formulate and implement a proactive public relations strategy to enhance 10x's brand reputation and increase awareness of the company and its innovations.
- Create and manage press releases, media outreach, talking points, and other materials to effectively communicate the company's story through various channels.
- Collaborate with Corporate and Product Marketing teams to support key branding initiatives and product launches.
- Work with external agency partners to build and maintain relationships with key media outlets and industry influencers to secure positive coverage.
Content Development and Management:
- Stay informed about company developments and industry trends to find creative and engaging ways to share news internally and externally.
- Produce written materials, including presentations, key messages, and FAQs.
- Prepare and coach company representatives; develop talking points and briefing documents for senior leaders.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, English, or a related field is required.
- Over 10 years of experience in communications (internal and/or external), preferably within a global public company. Experience in Life Sciences is advantageous.
- Proven leadership presence and experience in advising and building trusted relationships with executive leaders.
- Demonstrated success in media relations, crisis communication, and reputation management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Strategic thinker passionate about developing and executing integrated communication plans that align with business goals.
- Ability to see the broader picture and connect various elements across the organization for maximum impact.
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- A proven track record of managing and prioritizing competing priorities effectively.
