Job Title: Head Start Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Start Teacher to join our team at Community Association For Preschool Education (CAPE). As a Head Start Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality early childhood education to our students.

Job Summary:

The Head Start Teacher will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for children aged 3-5 years old. You will work closely with a team of educators to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment
  • Assess and record children's progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a smooth transition between home and school
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • California Teacher Permit
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a Head Start or State Preschool program
  • Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish/English

CAPE offers a competitive salary range of $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and education. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan.
