Radiology Scheduler Position

Opportunities with Optum in the healthcare industry. We are seeking a skilled Radiology Scheduler to join our team. As a Radiology Scheduler, you will be responsible for scheduling radiology procedures in an organized and efficient manner. You will work cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, and insurance information.
- Perform insurance verification on the date of service.
- Schedule radiology procedures in an organized and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures and requirements.
- File and maintain medical records.
- Confirm and schedule appointments.
- Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls promptly and courteously.
- Perform referral documentation promptly.
- Perform certain follow-up services for patients in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Adhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum Employee Policies.
- Work cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goals.
- Keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher).
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience.
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency (multi-tasking through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC).
- Knowledge of Radiology.
- Knowledge of medical terms.
- 1+ years of experience in a call center.
- Experience working with scheduling programs.
- 1+ years of experience working in a medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records.
