Job Title: IRL Technologist

Job Summary:

The IRL Technologist will be responsible for performing and interpreting complex donor and patient testing procedures, managing receipt, coordination, and shipment of patient and donor blood samples, and maintaining accurate and legible records. This role will also involve providing training and guidance to new technologists and technicians, as well as assuming lead responsibilities such as record review and training.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform and interpret basic and complex donor and/or patient testing procedures and complete required quality control, as appropriate to state and federal regulations.
  • Recognize testing irregularities, identify the cause, determine the solution, and resolve the problem.
  • Assist Technologist I and II in problem resolution.
  • Maintain, edit, and review computer and manual records to assure accurate record keeping.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and validation of laboratory equipment and software maintenance.
  • Assume lead responsibilities such as record review and training.
  • Provide training and guidance to new technologists and technicians.
