Position Overview

Hotel Equities, a distinguished leader in hotel development and management, is seeking an exceptional Facilities Maintenance Manager for our esteemed Hampton Inn & Suites.

Role Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the functionality of the maintenance division and ensuring the aesthetic and operational excellence of the hotel. This position is accountable for implementing the company's maintenance and safety protocols, which encompass procurement, preventive maintenance, equipment servicing, hotel security, and the supervision of the maintenance team.   • Guarantee guest satisfaction consistently, embodying and upholding the Guest Service Standards.
  • Oversee and coordinate the efforts of the maintenance personnel, evaluating their performance to ensure adherence to established procedures and expectations.
  • Optimize scheduling to meet financial goals while maintaining product quality.
  • Manage budgetary considerations and control departmental expenditures, including maintenance contracts and utility costs.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the annual departmental operating budget and capital plans that align with the hotel's strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant company, state, local, and federal regulations regarding the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for staff, guests, and vendors.
  • Oversee the proper functioning of the hotel's systems and equipment, including life safety, telecommunications, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and kitchen appliances.
  • Ensure maintenance requests are addressed promptly and courteously, including logging and follow-up procedures.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of maintenance department staff.
  • Maintain regular communication with management regarding the condition of the building and its systems, providing cost-effective maintenance proposals.
  • Supervise any external contractors engaged for maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere to all established work rules, procedures, and policies of the organization.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience with hospitality brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Ability to read and write for effective communication.
  • Team-oriented mindset with minimal direct supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computational and computer skills are necessary.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including chillers, boilers, and refrigeration.
  • Thorough understanding of plumbing and electrical systems, along with record-keeping for utility consumption.
  • Experience in office management, procurement, and knowledge of building codes and construction principles.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local laws regarding employment and workplace safety.
