Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trauma-Informed Preschool Teacher to join our team at the YWCA of New Britain Child Care Center.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in a NAEYC accredited preschool program. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of promoting trauma-informed practices in a child-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement a trauma-informed preschool program that promotes social-emotional learning and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and staff, fostering a sense of community and respect for individual differences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum that integrates across all domains of development, including social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to staff members on trauma-informed practices and developmentally appropriate care.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as child development, trauma-informed care, and cultural responsiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a NAEYC accredited preschool program.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of promoting trauma-informed practices in a child-centered environment.
Salary and Benefits
