The primary objective of this role is to provide daily care to assigned residents by assisting with direct and indirect care duties as directed by the charge nurse or certified nursing assistants.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with dressing and personal hygiene
- Support CNAs with residents requiring 2-staff transfers
- Make occupied beds
- Assist with obtaining weights
- Provide incontinent care to residents who can move in bed
- Assist residents with meals
- Pass, set up, and collect trays
- Place belongings within residents' reach
- Answer call bells in a timely manner
- Make unoccupied beds
- Empty commodes and urinals
- Transport residents to the dining room for meals
- Accompany residents on outside appointments as needed
- Visit with residents providing supportive interactions
- Assist residents with communication involving technology
- Monitor residents to maintain safety and provide supervision as needed
- Organize and clean closets and dressers
- Ensure personal care items are stocked and put away
- Pass out drinks to independent residents
- Report resident intake to Team Leaders
- Offer nourishments and distribute them from the dietary department
- Check fall precautions, including bed monitors, mats, and personal alarms
- Check and clean dirty wheelchairs after meals or incontinent episodes
- Check and clean tub and shower rooms
Greet newly admitted residents, escort them to their rooms, and receive paperwork from referring agencies.
