Muslim Chaplain

The Muslim Chaplain will provide spiritual care and support to the incarcerated population at North Kern State Prison. This role involves conducting religious services, counseling individuals, and organizing educational programs.

• Conduct regular religious services and administer religious rites
• Interview and counsel incarcerated individuals on spiritual matters and ethical problems
• Organize and instruct classes in religious and sacred music
• Supervise the arrangement of programs conducted by visiting religious and allied groups
• Counsel with incarcerated individuals regarding family problems and provide support
• Work with incarcerated individuals and groups to promote positive behavior and rehabilitation

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Islamic principles and practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. A bachelor's degree in a related field and experience in a similar role are preferred.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality. Travel may be required to attend training and meetings.
