Job Summary

Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking a highly skilled Applications Analyst I, II, or Senior to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining computer applications and databases that are essential to our daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply business and technical support concepts to troubleshoot software issues and provide top-notch customer support.
  • Resolve application and usability problems, ensuring the accurate and reliable functioning of our systems.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to exchange ideas, information, and opinions to facilitate tasks.
  • Work closely with managers and employees at all levels to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Senior Application Analyst: Six (6) years of applicable Information Technology application administration and support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Application Analyst II: Three (3) years of Information Technology Development/Support experience.
  • Application Analyst I: No experience required.
  • Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems, application development and support methodologies, and database management systems.
  • Effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective working knowledge of SDLC and project life cycle methods and practices.
  • Good customer service and organization skills.
  • Understanding of, compliance with, and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures.
  • Competent in scripting, SQL, deciphering error and event logs, data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) or more years of applicable utility industry experience.
  • Experience with security systems, camera systems, and administering server-based applications.
Work Environment

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to make decisions, interpret data, and problem-solve.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand or sit for extended periods; use hands to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to work and collaborate with managers and employees at all levels to exchange ideas, information, and opinions to facilitate tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with regular working hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please note that occasional extended hours may be necessary as part of a 24/7/365 on-call rotation.

Work Location

This is a hybrid (2-3 days in office) position located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Travel Requirement

This position requires minimal travel, typically 10% or less.
