Job Summary

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer plays a crucial role in helping product teams, platform teams, and application teams successfully adopt cloud infrastructure and platform services. This position requires a high level of self-direction and the ability to support the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership in the deployment and maintenance of cloud-based services using the Azure platform.
  • Work with IT Product Teams to ensure guidelines are followed and/or create cloud resources where necessary.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, using infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code concepts, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Work closely with security specialists to design, implement, and test security controls, and ensure engineering activities align to security configuration guidance.
  • Promptly respond to requests for engineering assistance from technical customers as needed. Provide engineering support, present ideas, and create best-practice guidance materials.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of a cost management structure and reporting for resource owners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 4+ years' experience deploying IaaS and PaaS services in a cloud environment.
  • Proficiency and experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Azure or other cloud computing platforms.
  • Proficiency with a scripting language such as bash, python, or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of security principles in networking, storage, and cloud computing.
