Lactalis USA is currently seeking candidates to become part of our Fresh Mozzarella Production team in Nampa.

The Manufacturing Supervisor is accountable for overseeing personnel in a designated area within a production setting. This role involves coordinating and delegating tasks, enforcing policies and procedures, and suggesting enhancements in manufacturing techniques, equipment, and operational protocols. Responsibilities may encompass, but are not limited to: recruiting, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing tasks; evaluating performance; rewarding and mentoring team members; addressing grievances and resolving issues.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Assisting the department manager in improving the technical and financial outcomes of the department.
  • Guiding adjustments in manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and customer expectations.
  • Ensuring adherence to all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements.
  • Generating various reports, including production volume, yields, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with other supervisors to synchronize activities across departments.
  • Scheduling personnel and estimating labor hour needs for the completion of daily assignments.
  • Reviewing and approving time records for all assigned staff, explaining any discrepancies in hours worked, productivity, and other relevant functions.
  • Cooperating with all departments to ensure compliance with GMP, GSP, FSSC practices, and QC policies and procedures, along with proper equipment maintenance.
  • Collecting and providing necessary data for budget development or execution.
  • Working with management to establish and communicate company policies, operational procedures, and objectives.
  • Implementing quality assurance programs to prevent or rectify defects in new or existing products.
  • Promoting effective employee relations by fostering a safe and positive work environment. Analyzing and assisting in resolving workplace and employee issues through problem-solving.
  • Travel and/or extended or off-hours may be necessary.

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree or higher preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience required.
  • Experience in production, packaging, warehouse, and/or distribution preferred.
  • Experience in the food industry preferred.

Specialized Knowledge

  • Familiarity with OSHA, Food Safety, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and certifications within the food sector (FSSC, ISO 9001).
  • Proficiency in computers and systems (Microsoft Word, manufacturing operating systems).

Skills / Abilities

  • Effective and proficient communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Business acumen, including problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Able to manage time through efficient planning and organization of daily production.
  • Strong delegation skills.
