Role Responsibilities

The Package Operator I, II – Fresh Mozzarella will oversee the daily operational flow of machines and equipment in the assigned area, ensuring product quality and compliance with Lactalis standards. Adherence to all Food Safety Management system guidelines is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Efficiently load and operate machinery at designated speeds while minimizing interruptions.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a high-volume processing flow.
  • Execute product changes and prepare machine setups with precise measurements for specific packaging.
  • Conduct sanitation tasks as assigned, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Take immediate corrective actions for any products that do not meet quality specifications.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and enhanced performance.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with ISO22000/ISO9001/HACCP standards.
  • Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as directed by supervisors or managers.
  • Operators at the II level will be expected to manage the line or provide breaks for fellow operators. Operators at the III level will operate the mulitvac alongside other equipment. Operators at the IV level will manage all equipment and support the department supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications

Successful applicants will possess the following:

Education

  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience

  • Prior experience in the food industry or food manufacturing is preferred.

Specialized Knowledge

  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to calculate averages.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
