We are seeking a dedicated long-term substitute for the role of Lower School Math Teacher. This position is essential in promoting a growth mindset in mathematics and enhancing critical thinking skills among our Second through Fifth Grade learners.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and innovative educator who appreciates the beauty of mathematics and inspires a love for the subject in their students. They will thrive in a setting with small class sizes and will be adept at modifying the curriculum to cater to the diverse needs of individual students. Building strong relationships with students and establishing a positive classroom atmosphere will be key to their success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver instruction across multiple sections of Math for Second through Fifth Grades.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Archdiocese of Seattle Math curriculum standards.
  • Establish classroom rules and expectations while managing student behavior effectively.
  • Incorporate technology and interactive activities to enrich the math learning experience.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and organized classroom environment.
  • Regularly assess and provide constructive feedback on student performance.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to share effective practices and enhance instructional methods.
  • Engage with families, colleagues, and administration to appropriately challenge and support students.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Embrace the mission, vision, and values of the Archdiocese of Seattle Catholic Schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; a Master's degree and/or teaching credential is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience teaching elementary-aged students.
  • Strong understanding of elementary math concepts and effective teaching strategies.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Proficiency in using instructional technology, including document cameras and interactive whiteboards.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and enthusiasm for helping students develop a love for mathematics.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Positive energy and enthusiasm for working in a faith-based educational environment.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and an understanding of cultural humility and antiracism in education.
SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
The anticipated salary is competitive for the duration of the position. This role does not include benefits.
