Compensation Range: $13,729 - $20,575 / quarter based on qualifications and experience

Shoreline Community College invites applications for the role of Mathematics Instructor, responsible for delivering a range of courses from Pre-Algebra to Calculus and Introduction to Statistics. On-campus teaching is a requirement.

Essential Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Master's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Proven successful teaching experience in Mathematics
  • Experience in a higher education setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, learning management systems, and relevant instructional technologies
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to inspire enthusiasm and engagement in mathematics instruction
  • Experience or willingness to develop and teach online courses
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment through cultural awareness and responsiveness

Employment Conditions

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The College operates in a mixed format (both in-person and online instruction), with some roles potentially being fully online based on departmental needs. Faculty engaged in remote instruction must ensure they have a suitable workspace and internet access, while the College will provide necessary technical support. For in-person instruction, faculty typically work in classrooms or office spaces that may require prolonged periods of standing or sitting. Faculty are expected to utilize computers and media equipment in their roles.

EMPLOYMENT TERM / COMPENSATION:
This is a part-time, non-tenured position with assignments made on a quarter-to-quarter basis. Compensation is contingent upon the number of contact hours as per the agreement with the Shoreline Community College Federation of Teachers. The hiring process is subject to available funding as determined by the College President.
