Job Summary

The Financial Advisor for Student Organizations will provide financial guidance and support to student groups and organizations at InsideHigherEd. This role will involve analyzing financial data, developing budget plans, and providing training and workshops to student leaders on financial management and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to student governance officers and committees to ensure sound financial management policies and planning.
  • Develop and implement financial training programs for student leaders, including workshops and one-on-one coaching.
  • Monitor and analyze financial activity, identifying areas of concern and providing regular reporting to student leaders and supervisors.
  • Supervise and approve paid hours for student financial officers and staff, promoting teamwork and consistency in the application of financial policies.
  • Attend and serve as advisor to the student government's finance committees.
  • Liaise with technology services staff to maintain and replace financial equipment and software.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with three years' experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in financial management, budget analysis, and financial planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in using technology to increase efficiency and quality of financial practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education or a related field.
