Sociology Instructor

Germanna Community College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach sociology courses in a classroom environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively planning and delivering instruction to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.

• Teach sociology courses in a variety of modalities, including in-person and online
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments
• Provide individualized support and feedback to students
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
• Stay current with developments in the field of sociology and incorporate relevant topics into instruction

• Master's degree in sociology or a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the specific discipline
• Official transcripts required prior to final offer
• Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant technology and learning management systems
• Commitment to student engagement and success
• Technology capability to teach remotely

• Prior teaching experience
• Work experience in the field of sociology
• Experience with online teaching and learning management systems
