Job Title

Reinsurance Business Analyst

Job Summary

This role is responsible for partnering with various departments across The RiverStone Group through the day-to-day management of data, cash application, analysis of reinsurance financials, payment reconciliations, and internal and external audits. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cash Application: Conducts day-to-day cash application function for Reinsurance, duties include reviewing remittance, confirming match to appropriate reinsurer and invoice, processing payment interface, applying payments to outstanding ceded recoverable balance, researching and resolving remittance discrepancies, responding to internal and external inquiries, performing account reconciliations, including aging cash, and collaborating with various departments to resolve.
  • Data Assistance: Assists in the following areas: data validation assistance on system changes, assisting in processing resolution to errors, identifying financial anomalies, investigating, identifying root cause and solutions, data tracking and clean-up, and internal and external audit assistance as needed.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate ongoing issues impacting payments and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical skills for investigating payment discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in using various tools and software for reconciliation, including a strong knowledge in Excel using formulas, pivots, and VLOOKUP's.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial postings.
  • Capable of learning and understanding The RiverStone Group's business and data sources to fulfill directed requests.
  • Develops creative ideas and solutions to real-time business problems and/or business opportunities; takes reasonable, calculated risks even if failure is possible.
  • Empowers self and teammates to continuously improve The RiverStone Group's business processes/systems and develops and escalates ideas and solutions.
  • Consistently delivers superior customer service to both internal and external business partners.
  • Flexibility required to manage various initiatives as needed, including those that require significant research, analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to understand and interpret basic reinsurance coverage and contracts.
  • Ability to compare data sources, reports, or results over time.
  • Ensures work product and report results are complete and accurate.
  • Sponsor and champion of positive change and continuous improvement across all functions managed within the team and across teams.
  • Strong Organizational skills/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to align with, and behave in accordance with, The RiverStone Group's commitments and culture.
Experience

1-5 years' experience in data processing, cash application, and analytics function in the Reinsurance industry.

Education

Four-year college degree.

Preferred Education or Certification

Re/insurance designations; degrees and/or certifications in data analytics, statistics, accounting, or processing.
