The EHS Manager will play a pivotal role in cultivating a workplace culture that prioritizes employee safety and well-being. This position is responsible for advancing health and safety measures while ensuring the environmental integrity of our operations. The EHS Manager will oversee compliance with Trelleborg's safety initiatives and applicable environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to ensure adherence to Trelleborg's safety program requirements.
  • Establish and manage an on-site safety committee, providing necessary follow-up actions.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain comprehensive safety protocols and initiatives.
  • Oversee all environmental compliance and reporting obligations, including EPA regulations and GHS labeling.
  • Support various departments such as Supplier Development, Purchasing, Operations, and Customer Support.
  • Encourage the implementation of operational best practices across the organization.
  • Conduct safety audits, meetings, and inspections to assess compliance and performance, identifying necessary corrective actions.
  • Design and implement training programs focused on safety, compliance, and preventative measures.
  • Maintain and update the Emergency Action Plan, serving as the primary contact for incident notifications and investigations.
  • Manage project budgets and maintain accurate accounting records related to safety initiatives.
  • Assist in achieving ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS9100 certifications, supporting both internal and external audits.
  • Conduct emergency response drills and schedule all safety-related training sessions.
  • Oversee the implementation of Trelleborg-mandated safety programs and ensure all safety-related tasks are completed.
  • Monitor and report on lost-time injuries and workers' compensation claims.
  • Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Safety Requirements

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in manufacturing areas.
  • Adherence to established safety procedures is mandatory.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment

This role primarily involves working in an office setting, with frequent exposure to manufacturing environments where fumes, airborne particles, and mechanical equipment are present. The noise level may be elevated in these areas.

Physical Demands

Employees must be able to perform essential functions, including regular communication, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. Assistance should be requested for lifting heavier items.

Position Type

This is a full-time position with a standard day shift, typically Monday through Friday, with hours subject to business needs.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree in safety science, engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in environmental health and safety within a manufacturing context.

Preferred Qualifications

OSHA training and EHS certification are preferred.

Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.
